Daily exercise, balance, strength, range of motion and dance parties all are areas we focus on. We also ensure residents get the nutrition they need by offering healthy menu choices that incorporate fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
Maintaining healthy relationships, caring about others and contributing to your community are signs of social wellness. Our Activity Team offers opportunities for engagement with a full calendar of activities, including reminiscing, bingo, happy hours, tailgating parties and more. Meals in our dining room are also an opportunity to gather with friends and neighbors.
Continuing to learn, staying curious and expanding your knowledge and skills boosts cognitive function. Reading, playing an instrument, drawing, tutoring, crosswords, even trivia contests improve brain health. Lifelong learning classes, guest lectures, book clubs, games and more are all available to help you stay sharp.
Managing your feelings, coping with challenges, building resiliency, and behaving in trustworthy and respectful ways are indicators of healthy emotional wellness. On-site support groups, grief counseling and daily interactions with team members and friends can help you process your feelings and brighten your day.
This is about finding meaning and purpose in your life and participating in activities consistent with your beliefs and values. Worship services, meditation, music performances and nature walks can all help connect you to your spiritual self.
Environmental wellness inspires us to live a lifestyle that is respectful of our surroundings. At Oak Park Place, we embrace recycling and grow fruits and vegetables in our own gardens. We also invite local groups, artists and experts to showcase their talents and help residents stay connected to the greater community.
Work that provides personal satisfaction and fulfillment can continue long after retirement age. Volunteering, for example, can keep you motivated and engaged. Plus, it strengthens your social network. You'll find many opportunities at Oak Park Place to volunteer, serve on committees and make a difference.
Oak Park Place gives you more time to do the things you enjoy. Our activity calendar is packed with opportunities to stimulate mind, body and spirit. One thing's for sure, you'll never be bored.
At Oak Park Place, we make healthy food choices easy choices for our residents. Our culinary team uses fresh, locally sourced ingredients to prepare seasonal menus that meet residents' nutritional needs and personal preferences. Dietary staff meet with new residents or their family to ensure special diets are accommodated. Hydration carts are available at all times. In addition, all residents have access to healthy snacks between mealtimes.
Our communities are open to people of all faiths, beliefs and backgrounds. Many of our communities have Sunday services that are broadcast on resident TV channels. Communities that offer in-person services are indicated on their activity calendar. We also offer Bible study, choir, meditation classes and other ways to deepen your spiritual practice. We want our residents to have the opportunity to continue being active and involved in their spiritual life when they come to live at Oak Park Place.
