Rental vs. Buy-in
Rental communities are the most popular senior living option in the U.S. Unlike Life Plan Communities (also known as Continuing Care Retirement Communities or CCRCs) that require a large upfront investment, the cost of entry is low at rental communities. At Oak Park Place, for example, there's a nominal community fee and refundable security deposit. Other than that, you simply pay a monthly rental fee that includes the cost of your residence, amenities and the services you need. The bottom line is you'll pay only for the services you need at a rental community, rather than paying upfront for health services you may never use.
